Episode-450- The Bridge Between Self Reliance and Self Sufficiency [ 1:01:47 ] Play Now | Play in Popup | DownloadThere are two terms that often get tossed around as interchangeable but to me they mean two different things. The first one is self sufficiency and the second is self reliance. I first spoke about the difference between these two worlds back in Episode 301 on Oct. 22, 2009. Today we will again look at the difference between these two concepts but more we will dig into the bridge between them.
To me this is actually more critical because when we examine hwo the two concepts interconnect and “feed each other” it requires us to really think ahead and be honest with ourselves about our self sufficient levels and our forward wealth of self reliance.
Join me today as we discuss…
- What exactly is self reliance
- What is self sufficiency
- Why we measure self reliance in a “forward wealth” manner
- Why we measure self sufficiency as a concept of degree or percentages
- Who and what are you dependent on, is it really all bad
- Why self sufficiency is always still dependent upon something
- Why it is easier to be deceived about your level or self reliance vs. sufficiency
- How self sufficiency can feed self reliance’s forward store of wealth
- The garden is used to create food storage
- The business provides ongoing income
- The solar/wind system provides a level of grid independence
- Hunting/Fishing becomes long term stored food
- The paid for home provides on going shelter
- Why these concepts are really important to think about
- Why I think you should build “personal brand equity”
- Why these two concepts are innate to your soul and psyche
