Today we examine the commonalities of three very different disasters. Today we look at a potential major solar storm with a huge coronal mass ejection, a massive ice storm and a global pandemic. While these disasters seem quite different their impacts are very similar only duration is a major variable. Last for today we end with a thought, “is the zombie apocalypse already here?”, I say yes it is. Tune in to find out what I mean and see if you agree.
Tune in today as we examine…
- Why is a solar storm a big threat
- What have scientists learned about our magnetosphere that changes everything
- Is there a hole in the magnetosphere, if so what does that mean
- What would a pandemic with a 25% infection rate and 10% death rate look like
- If 7.5 million people need a hospital bed what happens
- What happens if we have a major ice storm
- How big can an ice storm be
- The common needs, food, shelter, energy
- The advice from The Today Show, you won’t believe this
- Are you a zombie, do you know zombies, is the apocalypse here
- Can you be living in the middle of absolute disaster and not know it

Today we are going to discuss storing food for both acute and long term survival needs. I find with people new to preparedness it is one of the things they are interested in but often fail to take action on. There is one fundamental though, food is necessary for life, without it you are in real trouble.
Join me today as we discuss…
- The lack of vision many “disaster documentaries” have about food shortages
- What the real threat of pandemic teaches us about the need to store food
- Why you should start with the rule, store what you eat
- Utilizing the “opportunity buy”
- The role long term commercial storables play in your storage plan
- The value of cheap storables like wheat, barley, rice and their limitation
- The importance of protection from rodents
- The myth that a “garden makes you a target” any more then existing makes you a target
- Why you must become a producer
- The three levels of production and how they work together
- The holistic nature of a true long term food program

I have been getting a ton of questions, comments and concerns about a possible swine flu pandemic this fall so I thought it was time to revisit the subject. It may interest you to know that officially right now there is a swine flu pandemic. Seriously the world health organization declared it long ago.
So what is coming, what can we expect from the media, from the flu itself, is it over blown, is it a real concern, what is the deal? Tune in today to get the facts as I see them, you opinion may differ, if so please comment below.
I am also recognizing GuideOn.org as hero of the day for the work they are doing to help childern who have lost fathers or mothers during military service. Please help these guys out if you can this is one of the more noble causes I have ever heard of.
Tune in today as we discuss…
- Pandemics as a whole are real and they are a primary threat to keep an eye on
- The big concern about (H1N1) is speed of transmission not lethality
- You should be prepping now Swine Flu or no Swine Flu
- The media is going to “lather this up”, what that means to you
- Inside information - the State of Texas is not even testing people positive for influenza A for H1N1 any more
- To get maximum participation of the population we will be told vaccines are in “short supply” not forced to take them
- Why I will not get a vaccine this year, period
- This is going to have an impact on you if you get sick or not even if the flu itself is not that big a deal
- The response by media, government and sheeple will be the biggest problem
- Why this may help to once again tank our economy at least short term
- The big danger is the next pandemic and the “cried wolf” syndrom
- My advice, stay prepped, be happy

We take a break today from the listener call in shows to do a review of a T.V. show that ran on ABC last night called “Earth 2100″. This was an interesting look at what was called a “worse case scenario” over the next 91 Years.

- Wast Earth 2100 a global warming propaganda piece? Yes and no.
- Would Lake Mead really run dry is that the real threat to our water supply

- The left out real potential energy sources (geothermal and tidal)
- How environmentalism is actually preventing the giant solar farms depicted in 2012
- What all large scale power generation has in common mechanically

- Why New York really could end up “underwater” and what was accurate about that depiction.
- Could a global pandemic really kill billions?
- Why global warming is a problem even though I don’t think carbon is the trigger.

Today we will continue to talk a bit more on swine flu or more accurately what is starting to look like a massive overreaction by government. Our larger topic though is going to be about a simple question…
In a survival situation which response is better, a swift instinctual response or a well planned logical response?
With that in mind today’s show notes are very brief just tune in and hear my take on this question along with an interesting story about what I learned when I coughed (more accurately cleared my throat) at Starbucks recently. Another quick question what do you think is more dangerous right now, the flu or the response to it by government and the general public?
