Today you will get to hear me almost rear ended on the highway right at about 29:44 into the show. Rest assured I was not harmed nor was my vehicle damaged! I edited out a bit particularly my use of the F word.
On the subject the first 10 minutes are mostly a follow up from yesterday’s discussion on libertarian principles and how you can explain the common objection about “the things government has done right”. I will also let you know about the interview I did with Lew Rockwell and a new working relationship between LewRockwell.com and TSP.
I then go into an introduction to permaculture principles and explain the 7 layer system of
- Canopy
- Low Trees
- Shrubs
- Herbaceous
- Rhizosphere (root crops)
- Soil Surface (cover crops)
- Vertical (climbing vines)
From there I explain the 5 zones of permaculture beginning in zone one (closest to human habitation) and progressing to zone 5 (wild forest).

Episode-195- Will Survivalism Turn You Into A Libertarian? [36:49m]:

In my last show I gave a warning, “if you keep practicing survivalism you are going to sooner or later turn into a libertarian”. I have gotten more then a few questions about what that means. Is TSP a secret plot to brain wash people into a libertarian mindset sort of like those alien Hulu commercials? No not at all but there is a reality that once you are self sufficient, well prepared and have the mentality of a survivor the way you view the world will start to change.

Five Lies that Attack Individual Freedom and Liberty [44:31m]:

Today’s podcast covers five lies that have been marketed to people by both industry and government and how they take away individual liberty and national freedom. This show is a long one but these were some things I feel honestly called to speak about and I have a great deal of passion for them.
I know many listeners are more interested in practical preparation but one can not separate survival mentality from individual liberty. Where as the sheeple follow the government and seek solutions from them, the individualist knows that he or she is the master of their own fate.
Today’s podcast may challenge some of your beliefs and might even make you angry at times. That just means is isn’t the same old - same old. Tune in to get my thoughts about,
- The lie that “its a consumer driven economy and there is nothing wrong with that” and how it is driving people and our nation into the oppression of debt.
- The lie of “no child left behind” and that “everyone should go to college” and how it is destroying our economy and making us dependent on illegal immigrant labor
- The noble professions no one goes to college to do and why we need quality people to do them
- The lie that “The Constitution gives us rights” and how that lie grants government power that it does not and should not have
- Why The Constitution does not “apply to Americans” and how it actually applies to humans
- The lie of class warfare and how it convinces you that you don’t have what you want because of some other group
- The class structure of Europe that we left behind and why it needs to stay there
- The lie that “you can’t do it” or “you can’t make it” with out government help and how the government is actually the problem that limits individual achievement
- The lie of being told what you want or told what is a success or a failure or what you need
- Why no matter who runs Washington we all still have the ability to declare individual liberty
- How we lost the attitude of “this family doesn’t take charity” and how that is killing us
- How the individual spirit and personal fortitude is stronger then any law, government or situation
- How many of the “poor” are really free and many of the most “successful” are enslaved by life and debt
- How your personal action, personal spirit and determination are your greatest survival asset

Note - The date I used in the podcast for “Tax Freedom Day” was April 18th, 2008 the correct date is April 23rd, 2008, that of course just makes it all worse.
Todays podcast was going to be about how to select a good financial adviser that doesn’t just “follow the herd” but some how I ended up on a rant about taxation, the constitution and the heavy hand of government. We also discuss
- How McCain supporters are not really happy with their guy
- How Obama supporters are in the same boat
- The real reason for America’s lead in the world and how we are losing it
- The cost today of past racism and slavery from a new angle
- How dangerous The Constitution
- The Bill of Rights doesn’t give you rights it protects them
- The Bill of Rights doesn’t just apply to Americans
- It taxation like being sent to a work camp for 5 months a year, would that actually be better
- Social security checks that show up but buy nothing
- The continued effects of false inflation of the M3 Money Supply
- The Government is nothing but a “spoiled brat”
- The “Constitution Test”
- The continued effect of utilizing class warfare by the elected elite
Remember this show is a discussion not a lecture. Comment, question and make suggestions.

Can Socialism and Liberty Coexist? - Understanding Socialist Tendencies [27:42m]:

How could something like liberty coexist with socialism? Personally I believe if enforced and mandated by the state it can’t. Yet a recent commenter on one of my podcasts who is an admitted socialist from Canada got me asking the question…
If socialism is so bad, why do billions of people across the globe choose it?
The answer is something I think we need to consider as we unfortunately watch the U.S. slip further into the socialist world.
- Is it possible that humans are socialist at heart?
- Is socialism is useful and even good on some levels?
- Can any form of liberty coexist with any form of socialism?
- Where Native Americans socialists and did it work well for them?
- Is there such a thing as “private sector socialism?
- Are Amish, Mennonite and similar societies micro socialist societies?
- What can a kindergarten classroom teach us about socialism?
Don’t worry I am still a Libertarian and I am totally opposed to Socialism yet these questions provoke some very interesting thoughts.
