Episode-1131- Melanie Sorrentino on Tiny Houses

Melanie's Husband and their Tiny House

Melanie’s Husband and Their Tiny House

When Melanie Sorrentino and her husband was 26 & and 24 respectively they saved $24,000 in 18 months. This was while her husband was making $10 an hour and she was waitressing in Dallas. They went from spending 100% of our money to saving enough money to buy our tiny house and land.  Amazingly after all that they ended up having to help family with most of that savings.

Despite the set back, they pressed on.  They now own 4.7 acres in the Ozarks of Arkansas and live full time in their tine 150sqft home in the woods.  They are now establishing the homestead, adding livestock, creating a small business and live life in a truly free way.

Melanie joins us today to discuss  how they live comfortably in a tiny home with no plumbing and have transitioned from city live to life on a homestead.

Episode-985- From Pawn to Personal Sovereignty

If You Wish to be Free - First Understand You are a Pawn

If You Wish to be Free – First Understand You are a Pawn

I chose the title today in spite of the wackos at the fringe of the “sovereign citizen movement”, not because of them.  In may ways those people have polluted the concept of personal sovereignty but no other phrase really applies to what I want to discuss with you today.

Personal sovereignty basically means “self ownership” and as such is much larger then any political statement.  Someone who truly lives their life based on self ownership must carry far more responsibility then just telling others that they won’t do as commanded.  The individual sovereign much accept that if they fail the failure is theirs and it will be up to them to get up and try again.  They realize any help by any other party will be voluntarily and not something they are entitled to.

They will carry a burden that due to this they must also have a responsibility to help others in need, to do what is right for simply the sake of right.  They can’t rely on others to tell them when to give, what to give, how much to give or who deserves their help.  They must be responsible for themselves, their families, their communities and their nation as a whole.  The problem is today, most people even those who believe they are “free” are pawns on a giant chess board.  Just as the drug addict must first admit to being a drug addict before he can become free of drugs, so must we admit first that we are pawns if we wish to claim our birth rights of personal sovereignty.

Join Me Today As I Discuss…

  • The blog post that led to this
  • What our nation claims to be vs. what it is
  • Why you must first accept you are a pawn if you want to be free
  • Why you have to let go of all dogmatic beliefs when they are proven false
  • What is personal sovereignty
  • What are your responsibilities as someone who owns yourself
  • How do you break the chains that keep you on the game board
  • What hope do we have if we indeed are all pawns?  A lot!

Episode-849- Liberty is Alive and Well

I spend a lot of time on “individual liberty”.  I do so because I think the tide to turn government is so deep that it will take decades or longer to really change things.  Until such time I refuse to live in oppression so I have and will always teach that when it comes to liberty like many things, what you do matters is the number one component to success.

However being in New Hampshire for a few days with the crazy, radical, libertarian folks that call themselves the “Free Staters” has given me renewed hope as I watch how they are making progress at the personal level as well as at a systemic level.  Each member does their own thing, some are inside the system, some fully outside and others such as myself are working a bit in both worlds.

Join me Today as I Discuss…

  • Yes I am still a minarchist but have no further need to debate anarchists
  • You really can make a change at the state level
    • Over 12 State Reps are Freestaters
    • Many more backed by the New Hampshire Liberty Alliance
    • Over 1,000 people have moved as part of the FSP
  • Competing Currencies are Alive and Well
    • Lots of AOCS currency was in place
    • I understand bitcoin a lot better now
    • Shire Silver is onto something
    • TSP Copper will be back soon with even more options
  • People are waking up
    • Photography and video are making LEOs accountable
    • The local/real/etc food movement is hitting a critical mass
    • Many Free Staters were really taken in by “modern survivalism”
    • People in the FSP have each others back – BIG TIME
  • The impact on me
    • I likely won’t ever move to NH, but it could happen
    • My determination to fight is stronger than ever
    • My receptiveness to competing ideas is more open than ever
    • My view on currency isn’t different, it has however, expanded
    • The FSP is not “sponsored by” TSP
    • I will be back in NH next year

Episode-602- Stewart Rhodes Founder of Oath Keepers on Restoring the Republic

Today Stewart Rhodes founder of Oath Keepers joins us on The Survival Podcast to discuss the fight to restore our Constitutional Republic to its roots.

Oath Keepers is a non-partisan association of currently serving and prior service military, peace officers, and firefighters who will fulfill the oath they swore to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, so help us God.

Oath Keepers believes that our oath is to the Constitution, not to the politicians, and will not obey unconstitutional (and thus illegal) and immoral orders, such as orders to disarm the American people or to place them under martial law and deprive them of their ancient right to jury trial.

The Oath Keepers have drawn a line in the sand. They will not “just follow orders.” The Oath Keeper motto is “Not on our watch!”

Episode-544- Five Lies that Attack Individual Liberty

Today we have a rebroadcast of a show I did back in August 27th, 2008.  I decided this would be a good show to have on during my absence to Arkansas where I am laying wood flooring getting ready for our move there this winter. I want you to think about some of these things in contrast with the so called “historic election” that just occurred yesterday.  My belief is until some of these underlying issues no matter who is in charge we will get the same results with a different marketing message.   Today’s podcast may challenge some of your beliefs and might even make you angry at times. That just means is isn’t the same old – same old.

Keep in mind that this show was done in 2008 before the economic crash when all the talking heads were telling us that things were going to be just fine and countless advisors were telling people to buy Bank of America stock because it had dropped in price due to “guilt by association”.

Tune in to get my thoughts about,

  • The lie that “its a consumer driven economy and there is nothing wrong with that” and how it is driving people and our nation into the oppression of debt.
  • The lie of “no child left behind” and that “everyone should go to college” and how it is destroying our economy and making us dependent on illegal immigrant labor
  • The noble professions no one goes to college to do and why we need quality people to do them
  • The lie that “The Constitution gives us rights” and how that lie grants government power that it does not and should not have
  • Why The Constitution does not “apply to Americans” and how it actually applies to humans
  • The lie of class warfare and how it convinces you that you don’t have what you want because of some other group
  • The class structure of Europe that we left behind and why it needs to stay there
  • The lie that “you can’t do it” or “you can’t make it” with out government help and how the government is actually the problem that limits individual achievement
  • The lie of being told what you want or told what is a success or a failure or what you need
  • Why no matter who runs Washington we all still have the ability to declare individual liberty
  • How we lost the attitude of “this family doesn’t take charity” and how that is killing us
  • How the individual spirit and personal fortitude is stronger then any law, government or situation
  • How many of the “poor” are really free and many of the most “successful” are enslaved by life and debt
  • How your personal action, personal spirit and determination are your greatest survival asset

Episode-391- Individual Revolution and Freedom

Revolution is in the air.

Join me today as we discuss…

  • The difference between what you care about and what you can influence
  • Why you have to fight a “guerrilla war” at this point in the game
  • Why radical, rebel and revolutionary are positive things
  • Why growing food is the ultimate act of rebellion
  • Why building things is an act of rebellion
  • How we now plan out deaths instead of retirement
  • Why you don’t have to do many of the things you think you do
  • The motivation that makes you do things you don’t want to do
  • Changing that motivation into a positive force
  • The sliding scale, your on it what does it mean and what direction are you going
  • What would you do if you could do anything you wanted

Episode-359- Can You Feed Yourself

I don’t mean can you cook, do you have preps stored or are you sitting on a pile of beans and rice.  I mean do you have the knowledge, skills and tools to produce food.  Just two generations ago America was a nation of farmers.  Much of that knowledge has been lost.  Today’s show is designed to do a few things.

Tune in today to hear…

  • Why you should have a green house
  • How much a green house can do beyond starting some plants and growing lettuce
  • Chickens and fish in your greenhouse
  • Rotating some items in and out of a greenhouse seasonally

  • Why liberty starts in a garden

Episode-337- Individual Sovereignty and Defining Liberty

This is a deep topic today but it is absolutely critical to modern survival living.  If you are preparing to deal with out systems of support you must first remove the fear of their loss.  Modern survivalists act in power, not in fear.  We prepare in order to abolish fear, not to appease it.

Join me today as we discuss..

  • What do you fear loosing
  • Why do you fear its’ loss
  • How can your remove your dependence on support systems
  • Why are societies built upon dependence on their governments

  • What should you do next
  • Do your actions really matter, do they scare the establishment
