I decided to do an audience questions show today. Since it was done from the “mobile studio” there are no call ins or anything. These are all questions sent in by email, asked in comments, asked on the survival forum, etc.

- Is it okay to compost non organic food from stores, if you do are you still growing organically?
- Is my truck a diesel like my car? Why or why not?
- Will I take a “stand” on tamiflu is is good or bad?
- Is the ammo shortage or is the government behind it as a passive form of gun control?

Today we will continue to talk a bit more on swine flu or more accurately what is starting to look like a massive overreaction by government. Our larger topic though is going to be about a simple question…
In a survival situation which response is better, a swift instinctual response or a well planned logical response?
With that in mind today’s show notes are very brief just tune in and hear my take on this question along with an interesting story about what I learned when I coughed (more accurately cleared my throat) at Starbucks recently. Another quick question what do you think is more dangerous right now, the flu or the response to it by government and the general public?

My view is yes, sooner or later it is inevitable due to declines in production and resources and expansion of population. I also think we should not engage in alarmism at this point either. Much like peak oil this is a real problem that will get worse but over a rather long period of time, not tomorrow morning.
Today we also briefly discuss the defection of Republican Arlen Spector and we do another swine flu (h1n1) update.
Tune in today to hear…
- A news caster that should have his ass kicked
- New swine flu cases in my back yard
- Don’t take your kid to the doctor if they don’t have any symptoms just to be “checked out” DUH!
- What we are learning about how people react in a SHTF right now
- How Spector’s defection is meaningless
- How politics is like pro wrestling – but it ain’t funny when it comes to our national leaders!
- 6 of the last 9 years we have failed to meet demand with global grain capacity
- What global trends are telling us about future food production expectations
- Why grain is so important to the global food supply
- Subsidiaries are not new, they are VERY old
- Why food shortages can only lead to war sooner or later
- 25% of US grain production will go to bio fuels in 2009
- The grain used for biofuel could feed a half a billion people in India
- Why we indeed may face water shortages soon – nothing to do with your Bermuda Grass
- How we are depleting fossil aquifers
- The powder keg of the US, Western Europe, India, Russia and China
- How individual agriculture is the answer, large scale farms can not grow food that way

Today we discuss the concept of peak oil and what it means in the coming two decades. Is the oil going to run out? Will capacity exceed demand, will it create more wars? Regardless of environmental wackos, global warming hoaxes and carbon credits what does it all actually mean for the individual and what should you be doing about it.
Today we also do a brief update on the Swine Flu (now called the North American Flu), a bit about the truth vs. the myths of what went wrong in 1976 with a different variant of the Swine Flu and an update from a Doctor at Parkland Hospital on the severity or lack there of, of swine flu.
Tune In Today to Hear…
- Is Tamiflu a government plot to kill us all, NO!
- What the 1976 Flu screw a conspiracy or incompetence, bet on incompetence
- What exactly is Peak Oil – perhaps not what you think
- Do we need to run out of oil before we have peak, no
- Can we have peak oil even if there is still lots of oil in the ground, yes
- If we don’t use oil for electricity will peak oil still increase the cost of electricity, yes
- Understanding the capacity and demand equation in oil
- How do we know the oil isn’t running out, the government is build a tax system based on it
- The myth that taxes are designed to change behavior and we we learn by looking at pricing models
- Why the message is save the earth vs reduce dependence and increase self sufficiency, no foil hat required
- Why you should increase your ability to produce your own electricity and it has nothing to do with saving the polar bears
- The inconsistency of the environmentalist claiming peak oil is here
- What we were told about “climate change” in the 70s and 80s
- What a school text book had to say about remaining oil in 1985
- The new battleground over oil is Africa, it is coming sooner then you think
- Where the environmentalists are right, the US using 25% of the worlds oil is very bad
- The difference between the end of oil and the end of easy oil
