A recent forum thread stated that part of the reason survivalists concepts do not attract more people is because we all come from such a right wing stand point. Clearly as a Libertarian I take exception to this, the reality is most survivalists have a strong believe in following the Constitution.
Those that acutually respect The Constitution are often painted as “Right Wing” by the media but are they? Is it exclusively a republican ideal to support The Constitution? Of course not, do not Democrats invoke The Constitution when it suits them?
My view is Survivalists are often seen as “right wing” simply due to the communities overriding belief in the “right to keep and bare arms” applying to “the people”. Yet many of us have what are called “liberal beliefs” by many as well in regard to things like alternative energy, restrictive social pollicies and even the unconstitutional practice of certain aspects of drug prohibition.
What are the real reasons the survivalist community doesn’t grow as fast as it should, tune in today to hear my take on that.

Can an individual alone secede from the current system of politics and government support? Yes I believe that you can. It is not “un American” or a “renouncement of citizenship” and it isn’t anything like a state seceding from The Union.
No instead it is an affirmation of citizenship and the responsibility that goes with it. Today I start off answering a question about Mitchell Fishing reels from an earlier episode, get into more on the Trillion Dollar Stimulus and end up with my personal declaration of independence from “the systems”.
I ask you to listen and consider what I am saying, I will be formalizing this “act of secession” this weekend and asking others to join in.

Today’s podcast covers five lies that have been marketed to people by both industry and government and how they take away individual liberty and national freedom. This show is a long one but these were some things I feel honestly called to speak about and I have a great deal of passion for them.
I know many listeners are more interested in practical preparation but one can not separate survival mentality from individual liberty. Where as the sheeple follow the government and seek solutions from them, the individualist knows that he or she is the master of their own fate.
