Episode-2801- Expert Council Q&A for 1-8-21 — 2 Comments

  1. I attended the Southern Sustainable Agriculture Working Group farming conference 4 years in a row. Chattanooga, Lexington, twice in Little Rock. The most diverse group of people I have ever been around. I have never been around that many….. 1200 people the first time. There were different “groups” that split off at night. I went with the veterans, not the LGBT group. We all one thing in common, small scale sustainable farming. The organization went down the “diversity and equity path”. Last year SSAWG folded. I think that focusing on social problems and not farming was the demise of the group. It was enjoyable discussing common goals with people I would not associate with outside of the conference. Other organizations should take note.
