Igloo Hybrid Stainless and Plastic Latch and the Igloo Stainless Steel Hinges — 9 Comments

  1. You must have a surveillance video in my basement. I have two coolers that lost their hinges and latches long ago but I love the coolers and did not want to get rid of them.

On another note, each TSPAZ daily post is like a slow reveal of what I’m getting my husband for Christmas. I don’t even have to guess. thanks Jack!

  2. Holy crap Jack, I have one of those white ones and the plastic hinges broke as well. All except that useless strap. It’s a great cooler, I leave it outside in winter as a secondary freezer. Thanks Jack

  3. Done!!, they ship to Canada as well, I didn’t have to go to Amazon.ca, I used your link

    Back in business

  4. I have an igloo cooler that has both the hinges and latches on it, they are wonderful. Try the cheap plastic one at first , lasted less than a month. The metal ones are on their fourth year, so worth the price.

  5. I just replaced the latches on mine last week with the cheap white plastic ones…next time I’ll get these stronger ones.

  6. On my Coleman’s, both the steel and plastic models (I have probably 4 or 5 coolers), I’ve replaced all my hinges (as they break) with standard 2″ stainless steel Stanley brand hinges, available at most hardware or big orange box stores. But I will say, these Igloo’s look to be a good upgrade.

  7. CORRECTION… I believe the hinges I used are plated and not stainless steel, but I haven’t had any rust out yet and a couple have been on there for over 15 years+
