TSP Standard Format to Return Tomorrow

Guys and Gals I wanted to post a short note about the fact that we have yet another day of TSP Rewind for a show today.  I want to apologize for running a  rerun for another day but it really is necessary.

Running an event the size of what we do is draining and spending 4 strait days talking to as many people as I can for as long as possible (which I feel is one of my major obligations during them) just takes its toll on my voice.

I honestly feel if I were to do a full show today I would risk injury to my vocal cords.  So I am resting them, if you listen to today’s rewind after the stock intro you will hear the bridge where I say, “Today we are rewinding to…….” I think it will make it clear that you and I are both better off without a show today.

Not only would it make this issue worse and make recovery take longer, the bigger issue is the quality of the episode would suck.  Thanks for understanding.

Episode-14- TSP Rewind – Understanding the Problems vs the Symptoms

rewindToday is an episode of TSP Rewind, commercial free versions of past podcast episodes.

Today’s episode was originally, Episode-938- Understanding the Problems vs the Symptoms and originally aired on July 10th 2012.  The notes below are the original notes from that episode.

Yesterday I included a response to a claim by a listener that Walmart was “destroying America”.  In doing so I didn’t claim Walmart was a fine company or that they should be supported.

I simply pointed out that all the big businesses that compete with them did the same types of things.  That a boycott of Walmart would accomplish little and we could actually use large companies like Walmart more effectively to get rid of specific products like “pink slime”.

Now This is a Problem

Now This is a Problem

Well, you guys say I have it wrong, really?  What do I have wrong?  My view is this is a deeper problem where a specific grudge and anger blind people to the truth.  Walmart isn’t the problem, it is but a symptom of the actual problem.

Going to war with Walmart in the current system is like giving a headache patient an aspirin and thinking it will fix the problem.  It might feel better but the problem remains.

This isn’t just a corporate issue, it is a government one and a monetary one, in fact that is the entire point.

When there is an illness if you are a good doctor the symptoms are used only to diagnose the illness and you correct the imbalance in the system that is the root cause.

The reality is if you only treat the symptom, the illness gets worse.  You can cut out a tumor yet a cancer patient will often still die.

Join Me Today As I Discuss…

  • What is a boycott and why they don’t work on large companies
  • Why 20,000 backyard chickens is better then 45,000 people avoiding Walmart
  • One time just so you get it, I DON’T THINK WALMART IS GOOD
  • Why I always say Monsanto, Conagra and Bayer not just Monsanto
  • Finding the real problem
    • Step one – follow the money
    • Step two – see step one
    • Step three – understand individual behavior
    • Step four – understand the total system not one component
    • Step five – see step one
  • What does work
    • Focus on the positives
    • Build and value community
    • Reduce and eliminate debt
    • Do business with the best company available
    • Accept that the debt based system is going to fail

Episode-13- TSP Rewind – Winter is Coming Are You Ready

rewindToday is an episode of TSP Rewind, commercial free versions of past podcast episodes.

Today’s episode was originally, Episode-767- Winter is Coming Are You Ready and originally aired on Oct 2oth, 2011.  The notes below are the original notes from that episode.

So today for the first time when I took the dog for a walk in the early morning there was frost on the car and trucks.  I actually put on my Carhart vs my windbreaker and even put my free (non coffee holding) hand in my pocket for a bit of warmth.

Of course that means winter is on its way.  Sure we have a few months of “fall” to go, at least in the south but this is the time of the year where things seem to accelerate.

Our Dog Blackie Enjoing over 11 inches of Texas Snow

Our Dog Blackie Enjoying what ended up being over 11 inches of Texas Snow

So in the tradition of the ant and the grasshopper today I say, winter is coming, are you ready?  If not let’s talk about getting there.

My hope is that this show will make each listener consider and shore up just one or two places that they have put off or forgotten about in preparation for the coming winter.

Some of these choices are about life and death and others are just about preserving some of the special times  of the season, like family visiting during the holidays in relative comfort.  Others may not save your life but may save you hundreds or thousands of dollars by preventing damage due to winter weather events.

Episode-12- TSP Rewind – Fishing as Part of a Sustainable Food Supply

rewindToday is an episode of TSP Rewind, commercial free versions of past podcast episodes.

Today’s episode was originally, Episode-386- Fishing a Part of a Sustainable Food Supply and first aired on February 25th, 2010.  The notes below are the original notes from that episode.

Today we are going to look at fishing and how it can be part of the modern preppers lifestyle for day to day living rather than in a capacity such as wilderness survival or bush craft.  Our nation is blessed with millions of acres of accessible water for fishing.

Join me today as I discuss a variety of methods of having and utilizing wild fish protein…

  • Focusing on what is locally available
  • Targeting species with good food value, ease of harvest and high bag limits

TP-Link AC750 Dual Band Wi-Fi Range Extender

extender

Every day I bring you an item on Amazon that I personally use or has been purchased by many members of the audience and I have researched enough to recommend.

Today’s TSP Amazon Item of the day is the TP-Link AC750 Dual Band Wi-Fi Range Extender.  I just got one of these to provide better WiFi signal to all my guests during our workshop that starts today.  I am a big fan of TP-Link and already reviewed their TP-LINK Archer C7 Wireless Router in a prior review.

The two work together great but this extender will work with any wireless modem running on 2.4 and/or 5GHz.  Here is what I love about this extender vs. others I have tried.

There is no software to configure it and the start up guide is DEAD simple.  You simply plug it in and take any computer with wireless and connect to it, you log in as the admin with included info for that.  You then attach it to any other networks in your home and tell it the password for those.  It learns them and done, you can now plug it in anywhere it gets a good signal and it will simply reconnect.

What this does is pretty cool.  Other similar items I have used instead basically attach to your network and create a new network.  For instance, we will call your main network A and your extender creates a network B, B has its own login info, etc.  So you are on one network and get too far away, if your device manages to self switch to B fine but this usually doesn’t happen.  Sometimes your devices become confused as to which network to be on if both are weak etc.

Instead with this device if your network is Network A, this device simply becomes an extension of Network A.  And if you are running a cool router like the TP-LINK Archer it is every better.  The TP-LINK Archer runs at both 2.4 and 5GHz, which is great because for instance our older printer is only on 2.4 and for some reason our smart TV only like 5.  But we also have “Guest Networks” on the TP-LINK Archer.  This isolates guest logons from our main devices in their own network.

So when I configured the TP-Link AC750 Dual Band Wi-Fi Range Extender I attached it only two the two guest networks.  So now when my guests arrive I can provide good quality WiFi on both bands so everyone can connect.  I created a relatively simple password for this week that will be changed later and only the guest networks are accessible.

If any of this sounds complicated it isn’t.  Despite what people think about me I am not some sort of a bad ass hacker or anything, if you can update your iPhone you can install this repeater and again while I think it is a beautiful match for the Archer 7 Router the TP-Link AC750 Dual Band Wi-Fi Range Extender is “vendor agnostic”, meaning it doesn’t care what manufacture it is extending it just works.  So if you have dead zones or just want your WiFi to reach the back of your property consider getting one of these today.

Remember you can always find the TSP Amazon Item of the day by just going to TspAz.com and by shopping at TspAz.com anytime you shop on Amazon you help support TSP and the work we do here no matter what you buy.

Episode-11- TSP Rewind – From Pawn to Personal Sovereignty

rewindToday is an episode of TSP Rewind, commercial free versions of past podcast episodes.

Today’s episode was originally, Episode-985- From Pawn to Personal Sovereignty and was first published on September 25, 2012.  The show notes below are the original notes published on that date.

I chose the title today in spite of the wackos at the fringe of the “sovereign citizen movement”, not because of them.  In may ways those people have polluted the concept of personal sovereignty but no other phrase really applies to what I want to discuss with you today.

Personal sovereignty basically means “self ownership” and as such is much larger then any political statement.  Someone who truly lives their life based on self ownership must carry far more responsibility then just telling others that they won’t do as commanded.

If You Wish to be Free - First Understand You are a Pawn

If You Wish to be Free – First Understand You are a Pawn

The individual sovereign much accept that if they fail the failure is theirs and it will be up to them to get up and try again.  They realize any help by any other party will be voluntarily and not something they are entitled to.

They will carry a burden that due to this they must also have a responsibility to help others in need, to do what is right for simply the sake of right.  They can’t rely on others to tell them when to give, what to give, how much to give or who deserves their help.

They must be responsible for themselves, their families, their communities and their nation as a whole.  The problem is today, most people even those who believe they are “free” are pawns on a giant chess board.  Just as the drug addict must first admit to being a drug addict before he can become free of drugs, so must we admit first that we are pawns if we wish to claim our birth rights of personal sovereignty.

Join Me Today As I Discuss…

  • The blog post that led to this
  • What our nation claims to be vs. what it is
  • Why you must first accept you are a pawn if you want to be free
  • Why you have to let go of all dogmatic beliefs when they are proven false
  • What is personal sovereignty
  • What are your responsibilities as someone who owns yourself
  • How do you break the chains that keep you on the game board
  • What hope do we have if we indeed are all pawns?  A lot!

This Week and The Email Alerts and a Possible New Member of the Spirko Clan

dog

So yesterday our site went down for a few hours.  I won’t bore you with why, just know that it did, this got our email alerts all out of sorts and today an email went out with three posts, one from today two from yesterday.  One more will go out today and we will be back to par.

Next I had planned on doing a Expert Council Show Friday and three rewind shows this week, it now looks like it will be four rewinds.

Here is why, yesterday we saw a beautiful German Shepard pup on our road, she was scared and ran from us.  We hooked up with neighbors on nextdoor and found she has been there over a week.  Someone must of dumped her, PRICKS.

So later today we are going to go hook up with the neighbors that she trusts and pick her up.  BUT we have 60 people at our home from Wednesday to Sunday morning, this is not good for a scared lost dog.  So we are taking her to our vet.  They will scan her to see if she has a chip and if so we can find her home.

If not we are paying for her shots and boarding until Monday and are going to take her in.  Well, on weeks like this my time is pushed anyway, so I am punting and doing a rewind Friday.

Next up as soon as I am done posting the rewinds today I am all in on property prep for our workshop.  Customer service responses will be slower than normal but will continue though the week.

I also want to let you guys know that we are videoing the entire event, well all the presentations.  Those videos will be entered into the MSB next week.  I thought it was a nice value add for MSB and worth the effort and expense to provide.

On this new dog, Dorothy said “we should just take her in”, so unless she is lost that is a done deal.  Here is the question, what do we name her?  I suggested Charlotte so we would have Charlie and Charlotte, but Dorothy vetoed that, so any suggestions are welcome.

Episode-10- TSP Rewind – The Federal Reserves Shell Game

Today’s episode was originally, Episode-218- The Federal Reserves Shell Game and originally aired on June 11th, 2009.  The notes below are the original notes from that episode.

Today’s we take a look at what we can learn from primitative societies that used shells as a form of currency.  Today’s show notes are brief due to massive delays in my morning commute cause by flooding, survival podcasting indeed.
