Create an “If I Wanted to Save America” Video

Friday I did a listener call in show and my final portion was a response to the now famous video “If I Wanted America to Fail”, I called it, “If I wanted to Save America”.  It went over VERY well with you guys and a lot of people have asked for just the audio of that final portion.  Many more have asked me to make that final portion into a Youtube video.

Well next week I am in Montana all week, actually leaving on Friday this week so I just won’t get to it anytime soon.  So I cam up with an idea, why don’t some of you guys do it.

Here is how it works, I will provide the audio of just the speech and a version of just the speech that also includes the ending music so you can use either version.  I will start a forum thread about it, (linked below) where people can post pictures for use by the participants, ideas, etc.  The contest begins now, you can use anything you want to make the video as long as you respect the ownership of copyright material of others, that said you can use ANY of my material for it.

The contest will run until Monday the 14th and we will have a week of voting on the forum for the winner.  Together we will promote the hell out of the winning video and try to make it go viral.  The winner will also win two prizes…

1.  I will send the winner 100 dollars or two free years of MSB (their choice)

2.  I will also donate 100 dollars to Bella Medical Ministries on their behalf.

When your video is done, email me with a link and put “If I Wanted to Save America” in the Subject line. You can also of course post it on the forum for peer review and amend and edit your final copy right up until midnight on May 14th.

My thoughts on this project are also featured in episode 891 in the first segment of the main part of the show.  If you have questions ask them here or on the forum post so I can answer them one time for everyone.

Issue with Judson ISD in Converse Texas and Two Little Girls

It was brought to my attention that two little girls got in trouble in  Converse Texas for wearing an American flag shirt with the slogan “Homes for Our Troops” on it you can read the story here.

Earlier I had mentioned calling the school and the spokes person, upon further reflection PLEASE DON’T DO IT.  I have removed the segment from today’s show and removed the notice from today’s show notes.

If you want to call anyone call the school board, they are elected officials, the spokes person and the principal are working inside the system they were handed.

The Hawk Clan Building a Yurt

Xavier Hawk is a homesteading volunteer firefighter/EMT who is semi retired  from the not so glamorous world of business consulting. He is also a prepper who has gone from living in suburbia to the rural mountains of Western North Carolina.

Xavier has been keeping a bug out bag since the age of 14,  he leads wilderness trips as a guide for Outward Bound and others, and teaches and practices primitive wilderness skills.  He has recorded 8 albums of music, performed all around the country at big festivals, has had his paintings hang in a number of high end galleries,  and walks the talk in community preparedness and planning.

A few years ago he moved his family from a heavily surburban area of south Florida to the mountains of North Carolina and started building up a true homestead from the ground up.  He joins us today to discuss the transition from suburbia to rural self reliance with a family.

Carla Gericke - "Queen Quill" at Porc Fest 2011

Carla Gericke is also known as “Queen Quill” was born in the in the police state of South Africa and immigrated to California after winning a green card in a lottery.  She practiced law as in-house counsel at Fortune 500 companies in Silicon valley before redirecting her efforts to liberty activism and writing.

In 2008, Carla moved with her husband from New york City to New Hampshire.  In 2009-2012, Carla was the organizer of the Porcupine Freedom Festival, which grew significantly under her leadership.

When not wearing her Porcupine Crown, (in other words her day job), Carla is a Program Director for a NH based arts non profit company, where she also teaches writing.  Carla speaks and writes on liberty topics, and she is currently working on a book about the Free State Project.

She like cooking, traveling (less now that the TSA exists), yoga, keeping law enforcement accountable, voluntary monarchies and killing the occasional turkey with her bare hands.  We call her the Quill Queen because in addition to all of the above she is also the currently serving president of the Free State Project.

Today a called called in about a cool new technology called Zello, well I installed it and it is really cool.  If you remember Nextel it is a lot like the old Nextel radio and you can install it on any Android or iPhone for free.

If you install it this weekend click on the + sign and select add a channel, then search for “The Survival Podcast Network” and I will be on during the day and though the weekend and you guys can talk to each other as well.  Many thanks to LostAirplane for telling us about Zello.

Oh and for people that don’t have an Android or iPhone you can run it on your PC or Mac as well.
