Episode-176- Money Equals Debt In Our National Economy

OK so now down to earth prepping skills today instead with all the new people I felt we needed another show on the economy, more specifically how the money supply works and why every dollar is actually a certificate for debt.

This is important to understand because modern survivalism is about building a sustainable lifestyle.  Not “saving the planet” but building a life that you can sustain if times get tough or even if they don’t.  Debt is the number one thing that enslaves Americans today and the number one cause of divorce.  On a national scale money and debt are actually one in the same, ever dollar in your pocket is a certificate for debt.

This is the cause of “boom and bust” no matter which president we have.  It is why inflation must return and by understanding it you can structure your life to mitigate the risks to you and your family.

Tune in today to hear…

  • Why when people call our currency “monopoly money” they are right and what the game can teach us about the economy
  • Why this economic problem is possibly more dangerous to our children then to us
  • How money works in the US economy, it probably isn’t how you think it does
  • What the founders did to control the money supply and how far we have gone away from that
  • Why we every had a “gold standard” and the reason leaving it behind has created fake money
  • Why every dollar in your pocket isn’t money but a certificate for debt plus interest
  • Why running your household as a microcosm of the government enslaves so many Americans
  • Reconnecting to the wisdom you had back when your thought you were broke, rather then today when you really are broke and simply have more stuff
  • Why if no one owed anyone money in the US, there would be no money
  • Where those trillions of dollars for stimulus and bailouts actually come from
  • Why the system is the problem no matter who is president
  • Why we are constantly tricked by the illusion of prosperity
  • Why we are in for bigger falls, simply we are going higher each time before we fall
  • Falling feels like flying until you HIT THE GROUND

Episode-175- Planning vs Paranoia

The more I talk to the media the more I am realizing how deep the belief that survivalists are paranoids is in the average person.  This is simply as gently as I can put it moronic.  Is it paranoid to have life insurance?  Is it paranoid to wear a seat belt?  Is it paranoid to keep an eye on your kids while they play?  If not why is it paranoid to take personal responsiblity for yourself and understand that at times things go wrong?

Tune in today to hear…

  • My continuing struggle with the media
  • A bit more on the twits that think I am making a huge mistake by admitting to being a prepper
  • What your own power is and why it should make you act in confidence vs in fear
  • The ability to plan and survive is a universal human constant
  • If property is over price in your area don’t buy it, move, yep I said it
  • What happens to you if you try to take a child away from his mother and what that teaches us
  • Why making basic human responses into something “amazing” by the media is robbing people of their own power
  • Your inner voice, it will never shut up, so you better listen to it
  • What humans can do about disaster that no other known entity can
  • Why disaster commonality is so important

Episode-174- 12 Simple Steps Toward Modern Survival Living

Today we talk about 12 simple steps that people can take toward living a better lifestyle if times get tough or even if they don’t.

Tune in today to hear…

  • Debt is financial cancer, eliminate it.
  • Plant a garden and permanent food producing crops (trees, bushes, etc) you have a limit to how much food you can store.
  • Aim to store at least 30-90 days of reserve food and water.  More is better but this will get you through 90% of potential disasters.
  • Plan for disaster based on the simplified threat probability matrix.  Personal – Neighborhood – Small Region – Large Region – National – Global
  • Understand “disaster commonality” simply put most disasters are addressed by the same preparations.
  • Have a bug out bag (72 hour kit) for every family member.
  • Have a family disaster plan for staying put and for evacuation.  (Bugging In or Bugging Out).
  • A bug out location (remote location) may be a great idea if you have paid off all consumer debt first and buy smart.
  • Don’t be 100% invested in the stock market ever, don’t have all savings in 401Ks/IRAs and practice true diversity.
  • Learn to protect yourself, your home and your family.
  • Everything you do to prepare for disaster should improve your life even if nothing ever goes wrong.
  • Remember what you do matters is the number one factor in surviving any situation.

Episode-173- Do You Hide Who You Are

If you listen to this podcast you are probabally a survivalist on one level or another.  Some are simple homesteader types that live in the country and try to be self sufficient.  Some are more the sterotype and into beans, bullets and bandaids.  Still others live in urban areas, work typical jobs and just make sure they have some extra food, supplies, etc around incase something goes wrong.

My question though is “do you hide who you are”?  Clearly I can’t, by doing this show I must put myself out there.

Yesterday this show and I were featured in the Sunday Edition of the Fort Worth Star Telegram.  The article prompted a lot of questions from listeners such as “is it really wise to tell people you prep”?  Today’s show discusses that issue and many others stirred up by the article.

If you want to comment on this today is a day where you really may want to listen to the audio of the show first.

Episode-172- Developing the Survival Skills Kit – Part 1

Today we discuss some true “survival skills” that are often over looked or taken  for granted.  Unlike a “survival kit” which can be lost, stolen, forgotten, used up, etc, your skills are always with you.  Today we won’t be discussing wilderness skills, truly primitive skills or the classic survial skills that are popular in forums.  Instead we discuss the skills that can save lives, improve survival and increase quality of life in tough times that are often left out of such discussions.

Tune in Today as we Discuss…

  • The skill of building, carpentry, etc.
  • Learning to negotiate, no one looses in a good negotiation
  • The skill of problem solving – how to encourage it
  • Walking – I am not kidding tune in to the podcast to hear what I mean
  • The guy with the skills kit is the Special Forces in the PAW
  • How to communicate with the panicked and make them part of the solution rather then part of the problem
  • Navigational skills – I am talking basic map reading and drawing here
  • My son’s solution to bad drivers – I am so proud!
